I have been a producer most of my career and enjoy nothing more than bringing ideas to life. I have worked at Riney, Publicis Seattle, McCann, Charles Schwab, Razorfish, AKQA, and now, four wild years at Uber where I am truly a brand enthusiast and learned the word MOAR (More + ROAR).

I am proud to call SF home where I live with my two a-doorbell kids and husband.

1.)     What was your very first job? 

I had a lot of first jobs - Making Smoothies in Lahaina was the real first, but I also delivered pizza for the Sink in Boulder, photographed for Citysearch in Seattle (the Yelp before Yelp), smeared bagels at Noah's in San Francisco and then the windows and displays for Urban Outfitters in downtown San Francisco before I went into advertising.

2.)     Please describe, in your own words, what your job is and what work it entails. 

I am the Head of Creative Operations for Uber, in my own words I am a human being who truly enjoys the creative process and people who create. I develop processes, organize and build teams and generally get shit done.

3.)     How did you discover that the creative world was right for you? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery? Was there train of events that brought you to where you are today? 

I was never good at being still or doing the same thing every day. I discovered advertising because no two projects are ever alike and each one is a new challenge. There was one year at McCann where I had to figure out how to take a photo of a wooly mammoth in an iceberg, put on a Disney princess dress for an ad, and then travel to small towns all over North America to tell stories of technology. That is when I knew I never wanted to be stagnant. Now I work for a company that is all about setting the world in motion @uber. 

4.)     In your constantly growing and expanding industry, how do you find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative and relevant? 

I feel privileged that a lot of the great talent comes to me to show off their work but my real inspiration comes from my family and free time. When you are trying to market to people, you have to be one first.

5.)     If you had to pick one piece of work or project that you are most proud of, more for the creative work and innovation it required, rather than its recognition or industry “success,” what would it be? 

I am the most proud of the team I helped build here at Uber. I am not a creative director so my role is a bit different and while I love contributing to bringing ideas to life, I am the most proud of bringing people to life and together. 

6.)     Which creative disciplines do you commission most, and are most interested in seeing more of and why? 

360 campaigns that tie all channels together with a big, powerful idea.

Which of these disciplines are you most be interested in seeing at CONNECTIONS? (ie photo, film, social, experiential, vr, etc) 

I find it hard to review video anywhere away from my desk or the tv. Experiential would be cool in an event setting, maybe you could have shops move small slices of events they did for brands to the show!

 

7.)     What's the biggest risk you've ever taken?

Moving to San Francisco! It doesn't have the same creative opportunity of an LA or NY but there is nowhere I would rather be.
