1.)     What was your very first job?

 

In my teens, I started working for the family business that my mother started, a rock concert production company. I ran riders and picked up artists from the airport. Not a bad gig for a young guy. My first paying job was as a Production Assistant on MTV's Singled Out and Roadrules.

 

2.)     Please describe, in your own words, what your job is and what work it entails.

 

My responsibility is to help the business I'm a part of be more successful. I work with the marketing and product teams to help them understand their ideal customers and know their needs. From there we come up with marketing programs to better attract and keep those customers in our products.

 

3.)     How did you discover that the creative world was right for you? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery? What was there train of events that brought you to where you are today?

 

I've always been inspired by artists of all kinds, they see around the corners of cultural trends, and i've made it my life's work to always be deeply immersed in the the parts of businesses that have the taste makers. In the world of software, where is spend my day, that is sometimes in product and sometimes in marketing.

 

4.)     In your constantly growing and expanding industry, how do you find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative and relevant?

 

Always search out the best and most current music and musicians and never turn down the opportunity go see a play or a museum show. The 'classical' arts are some of my most favorite inspirations.

 

5.)     If you had to pick one piece of work or project that you are most proud of, more for the creative work and innovation it required, rather than its recognition or industry “success,” what would it be?

 

We built The Glass Room with an intent to create an intervention for general consumers that would help them understand why privacy and security online should be important to them. Working with artists and technologists to build an installation of this caliber has been my favorite project professionally to date.

 

6.)     Which creative disciplines do you commission most, and are most interested in seeing more of and why? Which of these disciplines are you most be interested in seeing at CONNECTIONS? (ie photo, film, social, experiential, vr, etc)

 

 

Film and experimental go hand and hand. I find we commission work in those disciplines most and it's where i'm more interested in exploring more.
