Mallea is an on-going body of work that uses plastic as the medium and a camera as the tool to capture abstract images. The idea was inspired by midcentury art and furniture and has evolved into exploring personality creation through interment objects. The reason for creating this body of work using plastic comes from what the material is and how it is represented in our society.
Alex Farnum is a West Coast based commercial and editorial photographer specializing in the art of storytelling. He was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA where he gained his first love of light and all of its beautiful nuances. He eventually moved to and landed in San Francisco where he has made his home with his wife, Nicole. He shoots regularly for magazines such as TIME, GQ, Field and Stream and Maxim; and his advertising clients include brands such as Google, Coca-Cola, EBAY, Reebok, Westin Resorts and NetJets. Alex is also a regular contributor to the book publishers Chronicle Books and TenSpeed Press
