HOLLAND HEINEKEN HOUSE
In the run-up to the 2018 Olympic Games, we collaborated with Heineken to showcase the story behind 26 years of their Holland Heineken House. People tend to see it as just a party venue sponsored by Heineken, when in fact the beer brand is the initiator and co-host next to the Dutch National Olympic Committee. Through these 26 years it has evolved into the center of all Dutch activities during the Olympics where athletes, their families, and fans all come together.
As the Holland Heineken House celebrates great sports achievements, we decided to portray the indispensable social and practical meaning it has in the lives of athletes. We chose to make a three-part in-depth documentary series that focusses on individual stories of athletes and the inspired people behind the House. In every episode, two gold medalists return to the city where they achieved their greatest Olympic success. They revisit the original venues of the Holland Heineken House and relive the memories and emotions. Through these unique personal stories, we learn how the Holland Heineken House and sporting achievements are connected, and forever etched into our collective memory. What makes the project even more special is that we were able to broadcast all three episodes on national television, creating a perfect opportunity for Heineken to share a part of their brand story in the most authentic way.
