What was your very first job?
For my first real job I worked as an Assistant to the Press Attaché at the Embassy of Ukraine - long story, suffice it to say I started out as a Political Science major.
Please describe, in your own words, what your job is and what work it entails
In my role at Maybelline I work to flesh out and communicate our brand vision to the consumer. That includes packaging, point is sale, collateral, and lately some motion work.
How did you discover that the creative world was right for you? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery? What was there train of events that brought you to where you are today?
I always had an interest in visual arts that verged on obsessive and was a multi purpose graphic designer and illustrator for as long as I can remember. It was exhilarating to communicate things visually and have people react to them. Eventually, in college, I realized that it was my calling.
In your constantly growing and expanding industry, how do you find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative and relevant?
I find that you have to be on the constant lookout. What's happening in your industry? In film? In fashion? In the art world? You have to feed your eyes.
If you had to pick one piece of work or project that you are most proud of, more for the creative work and innovation it required, rather than its recognition or industry "success," what would it be?
I'm very happy with our Halloween collection, but can't share until it hits stores in October :)
