What was your very first job?
First Job. Ray Manley Photography, Tucson, Arizona.
Please describe, in your own words, what your job is and what work it entails.
I guide an amazing creative team to deliver breakthrough work in all disciplines. From advertising campaigns to digital initiatives, store merchandising to lookbooks, we create business building ideas for brands such as Diesel, Aerin, Michael Kors Fragrances, Mulberry, Clinique and many more. Every day, I seek to inspire my team to connect brands to culture and push the marketing envelope to delight consumers in new ways.
How did you discover that the creative world was right for you? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery? What was there train of events that brought you to where you are today?
Ever since I was young, I have always been interested in art and it has always been a part of my life. There is no single moment that made me decide to go into advertising and communication. Advertising was a natural fit for me. I was naturally drawn to the business because it let me make commerce out of my art and ideas. Everyday I can create, design and solve problems that reach millions of people. And do it differently every day. That’s an amazing opportunity.
In your constantly growing and expanding industry, how do you find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative and relevant?
I just heard this great quote recently: “Evolve or Evaporate”. So, Never stop looking or asking questions.
If you had to pick one piece of work or project that you are most proud of, more for the creative work and innovation it required, rather than its recognition or industry “success,” what would it be?
Working with my past partner to re-invent COVERGIRL.
