BT's Electronic Opus
Volvox Labs [VVOX] uses dynamic motion graphics, lighting, fabrication and new media technologies to help artists and brands connect with consumers through creative innovation. Based in Brooklyn, the VVOX studio cross-pollinates cutting-edge technology and disciplines to enable wide-ranging applications such as live music performance, art installations, experiential brand activations, and architecture. Projects have been exhibited at SONAR, SIGGRAPH, RENEW Copenhagen, SXSW Interactive, TEDxBrooklyn, Kinetica Art Fair; and has been featured on WIRED, Creators Project , Fast Company, Creative Applications, BizBash, and Communications Art magazine, among others. In early 2015, VolvoxLabs was tasked to produce and develop the visual components of a an immersive symphonic/electronic concert performance featuring re-imagined versions of the most famous works from the award-winning, multiple-platinum artist, film composer and technologist Brian Transeau (also known by his performance name, BT). The worldwide touring multimedia show, entitled Electronic Opus, included exclusive synchronized video, real-time effects, music arrangements, hyper-synchronized lighting, as well as unique interactive segments using Kinect sensors. A massive 50’ cnc-milled wall was built and fabricated especially for this spectacle! The show premiered on March 29, 2015 at the Adrienne Arsht Center in Miami during the annual Winter Music Conference to great critical and fan acclaim.
