Featuring the effortlessly edgy supermodel-chic of Freja Beha Erichsen the project was Directed by Ujin Lin, a Studio Private collaborator for many years.
Longchamp’s inspiration for the Spring Summer 2018 “Mademoiselle Longchamp” collection was the urban adventuress – a stylish, liberated woman who doesn’t have to travel the world in search of new experiences, who chooses to explore her own city with fresh eyes. Strong, independent with a distinctly French luxury allure we wanted to recreate this spirit of adventure through a cut-out ‘picture postcard’ language that felt both modern and retrospective.
After first assisting in on-set supervision for the green screen capture of Freja we created a rich layering of multi-directional figures with shifting juxtaposed settings in Post-Production, working carefully to retain important textural details of hair, flowing fabrics and locations in a slick momentum of movement.
The look was furthered with clean motion retouching and bold, flat, graphic colours in grade that gave a contemporary view on epitomizing the modern flair of Parisian luxury while remaining whimsically true to the spirit of stylish adventure.
