Miguel is Creative Director of Solar Initiative and Art Director at Vogue Man, He has worked for different retail companies like Esprit and Mexx as art director, before starting his own agency. With his team at Solar Initiative he developed Vogue Netherlands, currently he designs for Vogue Man next to other projects and a variety of new online magazines.

Please describe, in your own words, what your job is and what work it entails
Art Director at Vogue Man, giving direction and making decisions regarding edits, lay-out s and design development together with a team of designers, at Solar initiative the agency I’m the creative director, leading a large group of you talented designers, working for clients in retail and architecture.
How did you discover that the creative world was right for you? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery? What was there train of events that brought you to where you are today?
Starting from my youth I wanted first to become an architect I studied 1 year architecture, In that year I was very interested in music, I wanted to make music stages and record sleeves, thats why I decided to switch study and later I have made several record sleeves.
In your constantly growing and expanding industry, how do you find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative and relevant?
Our studio is composed by a lot of young creatives and we work on fictive research projects that can lead to solutions and ideas for the future.
If you had to pick one piece of work or project that you are most proud of, more for the creative work and innovation it required, rather than its recognition or industry "success," what would it be?
From the most recent projects this would be the Vogue Man that we launched a year ago, In this new Dutch magazine we where free explore different paths of design and photography, leading to a very nice result
