Rebecca PAVIA

Dir. of Creative Services | 20th CENTURY FOX

Raised in the midwest surrounded by art and music, Rebecca was curious about the world and the adventures it holds from an early age. Having become a student of classical music at age 8 and been involved with the study and form throughout adolescence, Rebecca headed to Ohio University unsure of where to continue her focus. Finally having settled on audio production as a course of study, Rebecca then began a career that evolved from event design and production, to audio engineering and tour management, eventually leading her to Los Angeles. It was in Los Angeles that life truly became interesting; she successfully transitioned her business and artistic aesthetic towards a new passion as creative director for film and TV distribution and sales. Rebecca continues an eager course of study of all things design, form and function, and an ever evolving desire to bring audience and art together.

questionnaire

1.)     What was your very first job? Working at a fast food restaurant at 15

2.)     Please describe, in your own words, what your job is and what work it entails. My work is to drive creative direction and provide a variety of solutions in order to grow audience engagement and attraction to film and television content.

3.)     How did you discover that the creative world was right for you? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery? What was there train of events that brought you to where you are today? I think I’ve always known I wanted to do something “creative”… It all started as a young child when I discovered the beauty and elegance of the symphony.  How that would translate to my personal path and how that would take shape took several steps and missteps to determine. Every step of my career has been a creative endeavor and has gotten me to where I am today.

4.)     In your constantly growing and expanding industry, how do you find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative and relevant? I actively seek out exhibitions, shows, events and audiences within many fields, to observe, learn about and gain inspiration from.

5.)     If you had to pick one piece of work or project that you are most proud of, more for the creative work and innovation it required, rather than its recognition or industry “success,” what would it be? A Twin Peaks home entertainment collection I was creative director on.  It was truly a project of love, dedication and inspiration for all who were involved.
