Barbara is in charge of Creative Content at Harry Winston where she oversees the creative designers team. Prior to Harry Winston she worked in marketing and advertising at Bergdorf Goodman and at PAPER magazine where she oversaw advertising and strategic partnerships for clients like Mac, Estee Lauder, H&M and L’Oreal. She also worked as a freelance producer on several documentary feature films among which “Scatter my ashes at Bergdorf’s”.

What was your very first job?

My very first job was working as a production assistant on a feature film. I loved being around creative people and the energy of the film set.

Please describe, in your own words, what your job is and what work it entails.

My job consists in managing the creative designers’ team and the creative content creation for Harry Winston. We act as an internal agency so we research, design and produce original assets to support the brand marketing efforts on a global level.

How did you discover that the creative world was right for you? Was there a time in your life that you credit to this discovery? What was there train of events that brought you to where you are today?

I have always been a very creative person (I painted and drew a lot and took acting classes as a young girl in Italy). After I moved to New York City one of my first jobs was working in advertising for PAPER magazine, a true creative hub and New York cultural institution. I knew right away that was the world I wanted to be in. After PAPER I moved to Bergdorf Goodman where I fell in love with the luxury world, Harry Winston was a natural transition. I really value my past marketing experience, I believe that it makes me a better creative person because I always create with a consumer-oriented mind.

In your constantly growing and expanding industry, how do you find inspiration to keep your work fresh, innovative and relevant?

Traveling as often as possible, immersing myself in different cultures, colors and landscapes. Also social media helps me staying current on various trends. I try to keep up to date on current events, fashion, art, film, pop-culture; I love the mix of “high and low” in everything I do.

If you had to pick one piece of work or project that you are most proud of, more for the creative work and innovation it required, rather than its recognition or industry “success,” what would it be?

The overall new and fresh look of our brand’s social media image on Instagram and other social platforms in the past year. I am very proud of what our creative team has accomplished so and I am excited about future projects.
